Recap is a lightweight meeting note-taking Chrome extension that captures live captions from Google Meet and helps users save and organize meeting conversations for later review.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Recap during a Google Meet meeting, the extension accesses the live captions displayed on the Google Meet webpage.

This information may include:

  • Meeting caption text
  • Names or identifiers displayed alongside captions, when included in the caption content
  • Meeting-related information required to organize captured conversations

2. How We Use Your Information

Recap uses captured meeting caption data solely to provide its meeting note-taking functionality.

This includes:

  • Capturing live meeting captions
  • Displaying captured conversations
  • Saving and organizing captured meetings
  • Allowing you to review previously captured conversations

Recap does not use meeting caption data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality.

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

Currently, Recap stores captured meeting data locally in your browser on your device.

Recap does not currently transmit captured meeting captions to our servers or third-party services.

4. Data Sharing

Recap does not sell, rent, or share your meeting caption data with third parties.

Recap does not use your meeting data for personalized advertising or retargeting.

5. Google Meet

Recap operates on Google Meet pages to provide its caption-capturing functionality.

Recap is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google.

Your use of Google Meet remains subject to Google's own terms and privacy practices.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Captured meeting data remains stored locally on your device until you delete it through Recap or remove the extension's stored browser data.

Users can delete saved meeting information through the Recap interface where deletion functionality is provided.

7. Security

Recap is designed to keep captured meeting information on your device and does not currently transmit meeting caption data to external servers.

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the extension.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Recap's functionality or data practices change.

If our data collection, use, or sharing practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
